In Scrum, an event (meeting) that occurs at the beginning of an iteration (Sprint), where a Scrum Team examines the Product Backlog, and selects a set of high-priority items to work on during that Sprint. The primary outcomes from Sprint Planning include articulation of a Sprint Goal (the why), a set of work items that constitute the Sprint Backlog (the what), and agreement on the approach to take to do the work (the how). It’s up to the team to decide on which approach works best for them to arrive at the desired outcomes from Sprint Planning.
